The flight instructors at VisionAir are carefully chosen. Each must go through and pass a comprehensive standardization program before training any client.

They are highly qualified, experienced, professional, and personable. Bringing their own unique aviation backgrounds to the table, they are able to provide quality flight training and pilot services to all VisionAir customers.

Son of a life long career pilot and entrepreneur and grandson of a World War I fighter pilot, David Purvis Jr., President of VisionAir, has aviation in his blood. He has been involved in management and leadership arenas his entire adult life and now brings that experience to the controls of VisionAir. David brings passion and excellence together to turn complete needs into simple solutions.

Dave has over 33 years experience as a FAA Certified Airline Pilot with over 24,000 hours of flight time and 14,000 hours as pilot in command. Dave has Aircraft Type Ratings for B767, B757, MD-80, DC-9, BAC-111, Convair 580, Convair 340/440, and single and multi-engine land ratings. Dave worked for USAir as a 767 Captain, as an international pilot for Air Aruba, and was a flight instructor for Delta Airlines. Dave, a proud father of 5 and grandfather of 11, has been successful in both family and business. A man with strong entrepreneurial development and management skills, he has founded and is currently managing several non-profit property management corporations including: Vision Ministries, Vision Properties, and Vision Early Childhood Center, Inc.

Jon has been with VisionAir since he was working on his initial certificates and ratings. He takes meticulous care of his clients and has a great amount of real-world experience and stories from which he mentors. He is a tremendous resource both in the air and on the ground and for providing exception aircraft management services. Jon works to ensure that safety and professionalism are at the forefront of every customer interaction.

Lance began his flying career over a decade ago, completing his initial certificates while attending the University of North Dakota. Lance began flying and coaching on the UND Aerobatic Competition Team and then worked full time as a flight instructor, teaching students in courses ranging from aerobatics to CFII. In 2008, Lance started working with the UND Aerospace Foundation as a Cirrus Factory Training Instructor in Duluth, MN. During his time at Cirrus, Lance trained new owners and potential Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIPs) from coast to coast. After leaving Cirrus in 2009, Lance worked overseas as a contractor flying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. In March of 2011, Lance returned to Denver and is now instructing at both Aspen Flying Club and VisionAir. Lance brings the highest level of safety and precision to his instruction, while maintaining an always pleasant and fun flying experience.
